A great running gag to use in your show!

You have a child helper on stage. You bring out your magic wand but there is a dove perched on the wand. You explain that he thinks that the magic wand is his perch. "This is NOT your perch!" Remove the dove and discard him into your case. You hand the child the wand and when you do, the dove reappears back onto the wand. Pandemonium! The kids go wild! Use it as a running gag. Each time another volunteers comes up, hand them the wand and the dove appears again and again. A great bit-of-business that the kids love.
